The Sony Centre For The Performing Arts presents the Canadian premiere of STAR TREK (2009) WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA on March 21, 2015. The future begins now as one of pop culture’s most iconic franchises is about to be seen and heard in a brand new way!

Space is still the final frontier and director J.J. Abrams re-exhilarated the iconic Star Trek franchise with one of the most exciting blockbuster reboots in recent movie-going history. The full-length epic film, STAR TREK (2009), will be presented in high-definition with composer Michael Giacchino's thrilling score performed live by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

Get ready for warp speed… and prepare to boldly go where no one has gone before! STAR TREK WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA celebrates the extraordinary collaboration between film and music as Michael Giacchino's score is brought to life on stage with J.J. Abrams’ blockbuster film shown simultaneously on the big screen.

Nationally acclaimed, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony is the cultural centre-piece of the Waterloo Region.Today, the KWS performs over 90 concerts every season to a combined audience of over 90,000 concert-goers.

In celebration of her remarkable tenure, Jeanne is selecting her favourite repertoire from 33 seasons at Tafelmusik, weaving together a tapestry of her fondest musical memories. To honour Jeanne, musicians from the orchestra will write “goodbye gifts” of newly-composed pieces based on variations on Purcell movements (including a Hornpipe from  Abdelazar, Fairest Isle from  King Arthur & Chaconny in g). And there will be an audience-choice portion of the concert, pre-selected by you!  Not to be missed.
